I was thinking to myself about lyrics while posting in the thread about mixing politics and music, and thought it would be nice to see what lyrics stand out to people and why.

One to me from A Nightmare to Remember by Dream Theater:

"Hopelessly drifting,

It stands out because when I hear it, it makes me happy, because it reminds of moments in my life where things haven't been great, but when I look back, I realise that it was for the best that it happened, hence I can relate to oxymorons like 'Lost in this beautiful agony'.

In particular, is this though:

I also think it describes me to some extent.
Ah, I love LB, their music is so simple yet so complex <3

I liked that line "Better stay on top or life'll kick your ass", it's just so true really. More lyrics that stand out to me are from The Spirit Carries On by Dream Theater, I love the part that goes:

"I used to be frightened of dying,
I used to think death was the end,
But that was before,
I'm not scared anymore,
I know that my soul will transcend"

I like it because it's something I want to be true, whilst I'm not religious because I feel there is a lack of evidence, I have some hope that there will be a God and heaven, because I want my soul to transcend to heaven.

And then there's It'll Be OK by Limp Bizkit.
I think it shows positive and negative feelings.
It reminds me of how I still love someone deeply, but I also hate him for hurting me (however unintentional it was). So in a sense, his indirect rejection really fucked up my whole life.

These three songs are amazing, and I love these lyrics, although ultimately, theentire lyrics to all three songs are amazing, and very touching.
