Re: Why does it seem the average teenage girl has horrible taste in music? (No offense)
Because it's not them really singing... therefor, it's giving credit to someone who isn't doing jackshit but yet is famous and rich for computers. And it's a disgrace and knock down to actual talent and singers who pour their heart, soul and nature talent into singing and singing raw.
Little white flowers will never awaken you, not when the cold depths have all but overtaken you.
Dearest, The days are all so long,
and in the shadows I spend them all.
My heart and I long for slumber.
Slumber I'm caressing you, I bless your touch, I lust for you.
Slumber you are not a dream, Not as much as you seem.

Re: Why does it seem the average teenage girl has horrible taste in music? (No offense)
All right, really surprised this thread was revived. Back on topic, I want to first address how if everyone liked my music it would be pop. Pop, does stand for popular music, and yes if every liked my music it would be considered pop, but the artists involved don't want it to be called pop, and I am voicing Anthony Keidis on that one.
Next, I want to talk about the autotuning. Autotuning was made to help real musicians try to make their music better, not for girls like Rebecca Black, and people like Justin Bieber to become famous. Corey Taylor of Slipknot would agree with me that these people need to stop making trash. Real artists have imperfections that make their voices that much more memorable.
Mainly this thread was about how there are girls who are posers about rock, and how there are posers who say they love any genre, and maybe I am just to devoted, or people don't love music as much as I do.
I often don't have a rhyme or reason, only a rhythm.

Honestly I do feel today's music is crap like:
Rihanna
Katy Perry
Lady Gaga
and all that shit, I must confess I do listen to some of their songs becuase if I don't I'll ned up not knowing any song in the clubs and I wont be able to sing along and I like going. But as far as to what kind of musicI have in my ipod, I wont say I only listen to rock and shit but I have several bands of different genres.
Oldies
The Beatles
The Doors
The Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd
Elvis Preasley
Ray Charles
Nina Simmone
Some Metallica
George Harrison
John Lennon
Paul McCartney and Wings
Paul McCartney (self)
Queen
The Police
Sting
Eric Clapton
Elton John
Some Led Zepelin
Now some "modern" new bands and singers that I like:
Amy Winehouse
Adele
Old Eminem
Broken Iris
Frou Frou
Imogen Heap
Sarah Bareilles
The Perishers
Vega4
Poets of the Fall
Peter Broderick
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Sarah McLachlan
Mgmt
Nevershoutnever
and some others
I dont really think I have bad music tastes, nor I think I'm really on the hipster like side, I just like a different kind of music

i am a girl and a teenager i have better taste than you....
i listen to a massive mixture of music..
I love folk, hip-hop, minimal techno, post-rock, jungle, deep dungeon style dubstep (not skrillex) and definitely reggae..dub reggae like lee perry especially
Re: Why does it seem the average teenage girl has horrible taste in music? (No offense)
I would not say that is better taste, but my main concern is how much do you actually know about that artist and their music. Also if you know the meaning behind those lyrics?
Re: Why does it seem the average teenage girl has horrible taste in music? (No offense)
what?
i was kinda being sarcastic
i am a huge music fan...i have two technics 1210s and two pioneer cdj1000s and i can mix on 4 decks lol
im mainly these days into music without lyrics...with huge huge low end vibrations....i appreciate production and atmosphere more than lyrics atm
however i have listened to pretty much everything under the sun genre wise...yes i understand lyrics....i struggle with ojos de brujo and buraka som sistema because they have lyrics in spanish and portuguese respectively
i dont get your angle though To be honest...who are you to decide if someone is enjoying music correctly...many people just want to enjoy music and arent ensuring their level of understanding meets your selected criteria lolol
if anything its better to not know too much about an artist to enjoy their music as it wont be tainted by marketing and their projected image
Re: Why does it seem the average teenage girl has horrible taste in music? (No offense)
Sorry, sarcasm isn't communicated well through just text. I think you need to know about an artist when their music comes out to see if it actually means anything, if a song means something I can find it more enjoyable rather than something written just for money.
Like when an artist writes from pain, it makes the song easier to emphasize with and I honestly think it makes it more enjoyable.
