I'm just curious to see what it is about the music in the charts that attracts people. Any suggestions?

It's all played on the radio. Sometimes you just can't get away from it, and you end up falling for its catchiness.

FINNNEEE! I dont like songs that are rap through it all! I quite like sad songs (I like the instuments and lyrics and yeah) but i also like songs that are, i dunno, i just like some songs in the charts

I seriously dont know why, but to be honest, i probably only like 10% of the chart songs. Or maybe 25%, i dunno!

Isn't it that people like it so then it becomes mainstream and played repeatedly? Rather than it being mainstream so people like it because of that or any inherent quality that the music has. Mainstream music hasn't always had the same qualities so I doubt it's some quality that attracts people to it. My opinion is that the mainstream music is a reflection of the culture of the time.

nothing is more irritating to me when people use the term 'mainstream'. listen to music because you like how the song sounds, not because its popular or because no one knows it. jeez.. smh..
