Believe it or not, I've actually always found the question of "God hates gays?" to be a rather simple one, at least for me.
As a Christian, I accept the Bible and believes that those who wrote in the Bible speak for God. In the Bible, homosexuality is considered a sin. People sin all the time, in many different ways, and homosexuality is no greater or worse than the others, it just gets a lot more publicity.
Another question I saw posed was "Why would God hate homos if God created homos?" My answer to this is that God did not create homos, he created free will and gave that to us to use for bad or worse. Plenty of people use free will to do far worse things than homosexuality, and I always hate when people blame God, or use God, as an excuse for their actions or the situations they put themselves in.
So to say you are Christian and you are homosexual means to admit that you sin, just like every Christian does. The question is if you ACCEPT that what you do is a sin. That's the "big if" for a lot of people, and what causes so many debates and rants just like this one.
That's my opinion from a moral standpoint, at any rate.
