And if Paed means child and small (which is what most children are), but Ped means foot, child (supposedly) and soil, doesnt that make Paed more accurate?

The fact of the matter is, Ped, much like Pod, not Podo, means foot, and although you say Ped means other things, which you have yet to provide proof for, Paed only mean Child and Small, so techicnally i win.
