Default One of the only things I'm good at...

...is football (soccer). I'm not that smart, and football is really the one thing I can say I'm good at. It's also my way of getting rid of some aggression and I'm not going be able to do it anymore I play football for my local team and we had a match today.

We went in at half time 2-0 up and everything was good. the second half began, and everything that could have gone wrong for me did.

First, I tackled their left winger just outside the box, and he pulled off the most outrageous dive I've ever seen. The twat ran into the box before falling over just to make sure he got the penalty

They scored the penalty, and 10 minutes later, i tried to head the ball over our bar to stop their cross, but found the net instead

About 20 minutes from the end, one of their players went down holding his knee when he lost the ball (obviously in immense pain as he kept forgetting which knee hurt :001_rolleyes: ) so being the good sportsman that i am, i kicked the ball out so he could recieve some form of treatment incase he really was hurt. Keen to show his gratitude, the same winger who dived in our box took a quick throw in, and was soon racing down the wing

I'll admit that my tackle was a little bit out of order, but he had really pissed me off with not giving the ball back. However, i was soon even more mad when the b*****d stood up and spat straight in my face. I chased him round half the pitch before knocking him out. .

Naturaly, i was shown a red card, and maybe i over reacted, but at this point I was pretty wound up. The winger didn't even get a warning for spitting at me. Now I'm looking at a £40 fine and a compulsary 180 day ban for "violent conduct". That's basically my season over for the yearbecause I let myself gte wound up by that little prick. I'm sorry, but I'd rather get a smack in the face than be spat at. Grrr...I'm still fuming about it

Needed to rant...

I'm sorry to here that, but as frustrating as that winger may have been, one part of the game that people seem to overlook is the aggression. As a footballer you need to learn to control your anger because doing things like what you've done can ruin things for you. Whilst I in no way condone what he done, I think if you really want to take footballer seriously, you'll need to learn to prevent yourself from striking out in those moments.

Now, spitting on someone is absolutely foul, and if it had of happened to me anywhere EXCEPT a football game, I would punch someone. But you need to remember that it's just you out there, it's your team, and a 180 game ban will be a huge let down for the team for one of their best players to be out for that long. So just try not to be so rash in situations like that, and hey, maybe when you're back playing, what better way to get back at that team than to trash them next time you play them. Don't be aggressive, just play smart, keep the possession flowing, get them frustrated, then turn their frustration into a weakness and use that to score goals.
