Okay now, I'm perfectly aware that I look and sound young but this was utterly uncalled for!
If it's one thing you all should know by now it's how I hate with a burning passion being talked down to. I hate condescending tones. Hate'em!
This toll free place called, asking for the parents of my sister. I nicely ask who was calling, he said "wut", and I asked again and then, you know what he goes and says?! "Are you questioning an adult!?"
Oh yeah, I'm serious. I told me dad, he said i should have said "I'm an adult, asshole, never call again".
Honestly, I was raised to ask who was calling so my parents didn't have to waste time on stupid shit. That was no way to talk to me. It was totally uncalled for!
Now I would have said I was an adult... but sadly, my memory is crap and I tend to forget how old I am, which is rather sad considering I'm turning 19 in less than a month.
But anyway, how rude! I was not that rude to him.
What is it with people when all I do is ask a little question and suddenly they take offense to it?! it's a fucking question! If he would have said in the first place he was trying to get money from my parents, just like all the others who call here do, than I would have said my parents were not available and this all could have been avoided!

I'm so sick and tired of people treating me like a child. My parents and family? That's fine. Because they give me shit I want. But everyone else? People who don't even know me?! Either way, as long as you tell them to take you off their calling lists, they cannot legally call you again, but they can however share your information with third parties who can call you.

I was more so making an open ended statement allowing you to share your thoughts, ideas and feelings. Most people prefer it to minimizing the problem by saying things like "you'll get over it". It's the way I am trained to handle residents for work and in my clinical placement so it's just become second nature.
I never said it wasn't ridiculous,it is, so I can understand why you're upset, However Maybe it's because I don't come on Teen Forumz enough, but if it bothered you so much, I'd have thought you'd be making a noticeable difference in the way you come across to others.
Maybe you are working on it, but then again, perhaps the telemarketer is too.

Well it wasn't so much the fact he said it as it is the fact he seemed pissed off that a someone should dare to question his authority (what little I'm sure he has).

lol, why would I do that? I've said it before, and I shall say it again, I'm a technical pacifist. I almost never take my anger out on others. Actually I rarefy get angry. Genuinely at least.
However if I were actually angry then I might take it out on others.
...I don't sound like I'm 10. Actually I sound my age for the most part, I'm just soft spoken and I rarely speak harshly on the phone. If I spoke harshly then people could tell my age. But I'm a soft-spoken person. Meh, it's hard to explain.
Also what bothered me was the fact that he clearly thought the idea of a "child" questioning him was ludicrous. Which his stupidity is really showing there. Maybe I'm the odd-ball here but growing up I was told to always be suspicious of people and to always question anything and everything and to never let my guard down unless I knew I could trust a person.
So even if I was a child, questioning is in my nature. But he said it like me asking "who's calling?" was so absurd that he couldn't even fathom it. That was the bigger issue here. And because of that it came off condescending. Just tells me he's an arrogant prick who doesn't like to have the authority he thinks he has questioned.
