Okay-- I've just found out that I might be in chemisty next year. You mint be thinking that I'm just some moody little girl with bad teeth, but the really stressing thing is that I'm 13 and going into 8th grade. Quite honestly, I had just calmed myself down about the two languages I have to take (which are not my strong point) and the fact that I'm doing geometry (two grades ahead) and then KABLOOSH. Here comes chemistry. Now, unfortunately one particular Asian stereotypes are true-- I'm pushed and pushed to do my best in school. If I get a B, it's a fight at home. If I get a B on my report card (which happened ONLY and for the first time this last quarter, by the way) I might as well write my will. Anyway, there's another girl who's crazy smart and pushed to do her best by her parents, too. If I don't do chemistry, I'll be viewed as not as smart as her, plus she'll be doing the class all by herself. (I care about her.) I'll also have to take one of those fail forms of science which is basically memorizing facts... Which I hate. If I do take chemistry, I'll start to stay up really late to finish homework (and it's awful, I had to do that last year for physics), plus I'll miss all my "fun" classes: gym, theatre, art... All of that. That means that I'll only have lunch and breaks to actually talk with my friends. The Chem teacher is used to teaching 10th graders, so she might be way too harsh on us. I'm going to talk to someone about my options eventually, but it's really stressing me way too much.
I'm not trying to brag or anything... Sorry for the huge rant, I'm just so stressed and actually scared for the first time to go back to school. I've always been the pretty blonde smart one that's a weirdo otherwise, and if I get dropped in me reputation, I'll have nothing different about me. I want to be recognized and different. I know it sounds way too selfish, but it's true. I want to be different and I really need help.
First, you can take Chemistry in 8th grade? I have to wait until next year (11th) to take that!
Second, take a deep breath. Calm down. Relax a little before school starts again. Don't go in all paranoid that you'll fail, or you won't do well. Worst thing you can do. Take some time to yourself, and relax. You don't need to be psyching yourself out. Think positively, and everything will seem a lot easier.
Third, get all your ducks in a row. In other words, get a schedule in mind for study time, homework, and friends. If you can work something out, you won't be as stressed, and you'll have a scheduled life rather then a hectic one. Which, I would say, is better.
I don't know if it's your parents or yourself comparing you to that other girl, but that needs to stop. Don't compare yourself to others. Just do the best that you can do. Getting B's isn't a bad thing at all. And I think reputation is probably not something to be overly concerned with. Just be yourself. Don't try to be someone that other people want you to be. Be different by being the real you. Be recognized by what you can do.
And I can't say this enough, do not stress out about school before it starts. You never want to do that. Go in with a positive attitude.
Whoah. I took geometry last year (Freshman Year) and am going to tak Chem this year. And only taking one language. Shit.
But like Ashley said, maintain a schedule that lets you have a little fun. You have so much time to let your ass get kicked in high school- I did absolutely nothing my 8th grade year. But, really- you don't want to be unhappy, nor do you want to psych yourself out.

Thanks!! I'm going to meet with whoever in a bit to set a schedule for my school day soon, so I'll probably be able to do the whole homework schedule thig soon.

Maybe you should work instead of be on here?
That was kinda reassuring... Lol. And school hasn't started yet.
