It's been ranted about, many times before but it accured to me today when i was wearing a skirt . Okay so i'm not 'skinny' infact, i'm rather big for my age. But i'm not the fattest 14 year old on this planet, Yet sometimes it
feels that way. Because of all the name calling, bullying etc teenagers all over the world, girls and boys are pressured into being societys idea of 'beautiful'. It's not fair not one bit. How in this generation,It's like being the right size, makes people superior to everyone else, beautiful is pratically a size zero. Everyday were pressured into having 'that look' and to achieve it, go on crash diets, become belimic, sometimes it seems people will do anything to be 'up to standards' standards set by people who don't have the first clue about beauty. Its horrid, to see that guys will turn a blind eye to 'fat girls' & girls turn a blind eye to 'fat' boys. These 'fat' people are usually the ones with more heart, the ones that will treat you better because they know what its like to be treated like dirt.
Not all society is like this don't get me wrong, but 99.9% of the time this is OUR society. Now i'm not perfect, sure, i've said mean words to people, who hasn't? But i know its wrong & i now have a judgement free mind. I just wish everyone could be less judgemental. But sometimes it seems like thats like asking for world peace.
It's unfortunate society pressures young children into needing to feel "beauty" and to a certain standard; but at the end of the day I wish young children would develop the knowledge sooner that they shouldn't give a damn about what society thinks. I just feel as if there's easy, viable solutions for the young to utilize in regards to all of this.
I agree with you, however. It's drilled into a young persons mind than you need to be *this*, *this* and *this* to be considered beautiful. It's why we get so many big girls thinking they're ugly, or skinny men thinking they're not "manly" enough. It's unfair.

I know, why should we bend and shape ourselves in what society wants to see, we're all beautiful in our own way/shape/form no matter what others may judge or think.
It is indeed, very unfair. Society sucks right now.
why should we bend and shape ourselves in what society wants to see,.
It depends on which Sociological theory you want to believe.
Anyways, I agree with you to a point. I mean the world would surely be better off without such a judgmental mentality to it. And I think that we should all strive to be less judgmental. However, I disagree when you say society sucks. It has a plethora of positive effects that outweigh the negative attributes that it might have right now.

Yeah, i know what you mean. Not all of society sucks. Infvct there is a lot of good that could easily out weigh the bad. It could just use some changes i guess.
I agree that change is a good thing, however this is what the current trend is. Back in the day, the fatter you were, the more prosperous you were, hence the more beautiful/desireable you were.
Its all perception. When we are all old and wrinkly, I'm sure it will once again be different.
