No. You did not win a war. Not single-handed anyway.

Firstly, I feel very weird about how you said it as a proud thing.

Admitted, WWII had some kind of logic to it, but when things come to the status of war, I think all reason gets lost.
But, I won't debate you about that.

Secondly, you can't decide anything involving a massive number of people, societies, and economies. No, it's not about fate or some pre-set path that humanity is forced to take, it's just time is too 'dynamic' in my opinion. It's like they say, it doesn't quite matter what you did, or what you're going to do, it matters most right now what you choose to do right now.

Also, if ever America or ANY nation says that it has some kind of sick RIGHT to determine the future of all humanity, and that too because it 'won' a war, that nation is an making a fool of itself.

And no, believe me, I don't hate America, it's just that I felt the need to express this. It's not some flame war between me and Zack either, and I'm not saying I'm correct, it's only an opinion.

I hope you realize that there were plenty of other countries who fought against the Axis during WWII. The Allies won World War II, not just America. Also, for the record (and this is for everyone's educational benefit); the only foreign war America has won without foreign aid was the Mexican War. At 'least as far as I'm aware; please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure that was just a typo/lack of explanation (), but that sort of thing really gets to me.


In regards to this discussion; I believe that the Terrorists successfully instigated fear into the hearts of millions, not just in the American population. In that way, and that way only, they have won.

In regards to "History being written from the perspective of the winner"; I agree to an extent, however I believe that the perspectives of EVERYONE are just as valuable and worth making a note of. Yes, history can be written to favour one side or another, but at the end of the day history is not only defined by what is deemed as "Official" or "Truth", but as the experiences and knowledges of people at the time .

In regards to the War On Terror; I do have to question why it seems perfectly justifiable to have killed far more civilians than that of the 9/11 attacks.

I believe the Americans won the Second Barbary War without foreign aid. Some historians will argue that the Spanish American war was won without substantial foreign aid (although I, personally believe that we shouldn't diminish the role of the Filipino Rebels. I see their point though). There are other battles/expiditions that are considered "wars" that the USA also won without aid (shinmiyanyo etc.)
