I was reading and most women apparently say that size 12 is fat



This woman is beyond beautiful to me...

She does look great. I would love to look like that.
But I have to disagree with you, at least depending on certain factors because when I was a size 12 (and even 9) I was/am fat, overweight, whatever you want to call it. It just depends who you are talking about, I think.
Also depends on if you are talking about womens sizes or juniors, because a women's 12 (unless you are tall) I would most likely imagine is overweight (since a juniors 9 and 12 for me is).
Everybody's bodies are different. I don't think you can say a size 12 makes everyone fat but I think it is true for many others.

The fact that you actually think your fat means that you must have a pathetic self image.


Why can't women ever be happy with their bodies?

i am a womens size 18 or 20 (jeans, depending on the cut.) and either an XL or 2X with shirts. i dont have a problem with it. yes, i would like to lose weight. but i am healthy otherwise.

i do not see how people can think that being a size 12 is considered "fat" or the person is "overweight." what would you rather be, a 0, 2, 4? everyone is built differently. so technically there is no "normal" to what size clothing to wear.

It's not a matter of self image or simply thinking I'm fat because I'm unhappy. Its a matter of science and health. YES I was very recently an unhealthy weight. I don't think I have a pathetic self image because I'll I'm trying to do is become healthy, I'm not simply focused on looks. Striving to be healthy is pathetic?

And believe me, just because my head doesn't look fat doesn't mean the rest of me isn't. I carry my weight in my lower stomach/hips/thighs. I'm not apple shaped.

You look good girl! I say if you're not happy with the way you look it then change it. And thats what she is doing. Whats wrong with that?

I don't think size 12 is "fat" at all, I think that this society has gotten used to seeing the girls in glossy magazines and off of tv shows (Only way is Essex, I'm looking at you ¬_¬ ) being sizes 6 and 8 and being really really skinny, people tend not to realize that only 50-60 years ago 12 was the average size for a woman and they were considered healthy and trim.
Also, for some women body shape contributes to having a larger size, not only weight.

Me too.....or at least I would be but for my bust.

I have a friend who's almost underweight and wears size 12 tops because of her bust size.
