I need a hug. Once again, birthday plans are ruined for tonight by my parents, who've managed to spend almost every fucking dime in our checking account, so we can't afford to go anywhere. This has been planned for two weeks! I have no money, either, because I paid my phone bill, OUR credit cards, plus THEIR fucking phone bill. The phone bill combined was $300!

I wish my mom would get a fucking job. I'm well aware that this makes me sound selfish all because my birthday plans were ruined, but maybe I wouldn't be so damn broke if I didn't have to foot a good chunk of the bills because my mom won't work.

Her lack of a job is one of the things that she and my stepdad argue about. It's always MY fault that she doesn't have a job because she has to take me back and forth to work because I can't drive.

That is bullshit! We live two minutes from my job. If I absolutely had to, I could call a cab into work and ask someone to drop me off at night when it's late. She doesn't HAVE to give up her time for me. She acts like she sacrifices her life for me and that I should bow down and kiss her feet for it. So, what it boils down to is that she has to be around to take me to work. That's her excuse. I am always her excuse.

Sorry to hear about that Danielle. I think that you and your mother need to have a serious talk and explain to her that money is tight and that it is imperative that she gets a job.
