I am sick an tired of hearing people complain about how bad there parents are. Or how mean there dad is. And crap like that. Ime sorry but just having parents(99% of the time) is better then having none. It may not always be easy with parents but its better then nothing.
I grew up in a military family, I know what literally scared for your moms life is. I know what a 21 gun salute for your father sounds like.
Heck people complaing there mom woke them up early in the morning. When ime here comforting my mom at two in the morning cause shes got PTSD and cand sleep at night.
You complain your mom wont let you go watch fireworks at night while I dread fireworks cause it reminds her of gunshots.
I can on and on about situations like that but hopefully you get the point
Ime not saying that to wine but more hoping some people can realize its not that bad
I agree that lots of the time people complain about their parents when really they're not that bad at all. Most people take them for granted but I suppose they can annoy you too and online you have no idea what might be going on with people's parents, never be too quick to assume you know their situation; it could be worse than you think.
Alot of the time though, people just tend to moan because they can kids will always rebel against their parents a little bit because they're not getting what they want or treated how they want or maybe their relationship is just strained. I can't imagine saying anything against my parents x__x
I'm sorry to hear your situation with your parents.:l

I totally agree, i moan at my mum and i bitch about her, we take our parents for granted and we won't know what it's like without them, for some it's hard to see how anyone can talk about their parents like that.
Erin, i respect you and what you do for your mother, she is so lucky to have a daughter like you, she must be so proud.

Yes we do sometimes take our parents for granted
And thanks for the second part. I just do what I can do even if its not much

Oh I know, I understand n_n I suppose, unless the situation is serious, everyone loves their parents really. Or at least I should think so.
I agree with you to a degree, but not further. At some higher points of badness, being with a bad parent could really not be better than being left the hell alone!
It's really the time for humanity to take a dump.

I'm sorry to hear about what you've been through. It must be hard having to live through those experiences, and you do have my sympathy.
My personal opinion on the matter is that it's circumstantial and dependant on the individual; some people are much stronger than others and are capable of withstanding a lot of pain and destruction in their lives, whereas others can get upset over the tiniest of things. I personally "moan" about my parents because their conflict between each-other has driven the family apart and had a detrimental effect on all our lives; in comparison to someone losing a parent in war, having a parent murdered or having a parent beat their children up then it may not seem like such a big deal, but for me AS AN INDIVIDUAL it is something which is painful and heart-breaking to experience and something I do need to vent about on occasion.
I do agree that people should be a little more thoughtful when moaning about trivial things such as their parents getting them up too early. Silly little things such as that are literally nothing in comparison to the trauma of losing a loved one that some people experience. Then again, I'm sympathetic of most peoples' problems, regardless of their severity.
In my opinion, one has to be careful when speaking in generalizations like this. It's true that sometimes people shouldn't complain about their parents. And that sometimes they shouldn't be complaining at all. However, sometimes these trivial things are signs of something more serious. Sometimes people complain about the small things because they don't have the courage to complain about bigger problems that involve their parents. Or perhaps they have worse things in their life going on that they aren't going to tell anyone so they complain about the small things. I know I've done that before. So I agree to a degree. Generalizations often address half truths and the other side should get fairly represented as well.
