People have been killing each other over their beliefs for thousands of years.
Proof? Crusades, 9/11, Spanish Age of Exploration.
People have been inventing religions are a scapegoat and a way to justify their actions.

HINDUISM. That is right. The Aryans formulated Hinduism as a way to justify their racism.
In the beginning, after the Aryans counquered the indigenous peoples, they engaged in a racist discrimination and social castes based solely on skin color. They put people in Castes and physically separated them so that people didn't mix.
This is what Hitler did also! But aside from that, lets keep goin.
This is exactly the same as hinduism: Caste systems that CANNOT be broken in one's lifetime. They invented the concept of the eternal soul to get people to obey easier.
That's right, religion is, among explanation for the unexpected (most of which we can explain making religion outdated) a government tactic. This isn't conspiracy, it's fact. Look it up.
I'm not saying don't believe, but I think the idea of killing people for their beliefs, trying to convert them, chastising them, is RETARDED. It makes you look RETARDED.

People will believe in what they want to believe in. I'd say though that there are more positive aspects to religion than you realize. And in the end, no matter how much death, or negativity religion causes, it's something you cannot get rid of.
I'm not going to debate if God exists or if any of the religions are true (regardless of my beliefs) because I know that's like walking into a death trap. It's like a breeding ground for unnecessary ad hominem attacks and such things like that. But I would argue that organized religion, in general, was, and in some respects still is, very important to societies and society today. It provides many functions that better society as well as dysfunctions that may harm society. However, most social scientists agree that the former is more prevalent than the latter. I won't be too specific because the whole branch of the sociology of religion is much to big to address in one post.
What?? Ok, not to be rude or anything, but alot of what you just said is factually wrong.
First to establish me: I am a 19 year old college student with a 4.9 GPA who has taken several world religion classes and passed with A's.
1. Aryans most certainly did not create Hinduism. What you describe sounds similar to hinduism, but I have no idea where you are getting your facts. Hinduism is actually one of the oldest religions on the planet. It has absolutley NO singular founder, and was formulated in India's Iron age (around 1100-200 BC), nowhere even near the Aryans on any timeline. Look it up.
2. God killed 270,000,000+ in the Bible? Do you know anything about the Bible? Read it? Do you know anything about what Satan does, or even if what you are saying is statistically correct? First of all, Satan most certainly does lead people astray and has lead countless people to kill others.
But Satan's not the biggest problem. It's Sin. Heard of it? Its that thing that all humans are born with (original sin)? Sin is the reason that people kill, are corrupted, and bring destruction to one another and the world, NOT satan. Yes, God has wiped out many generations, cities, and even nations, including: Sodom and Gommorah, Babel, and the ENTIRE WORLD with one flood!! He did it, because the people in those eras had gone astray and fallen into incredible sin(much like the people today) .
3. If you knew anything about the crusades and the Christianity of that time versus biblical christianity, you would know that the rulers back then were very misguided and actually not abiding by what the Bible says at all. For example: Charlemagne would travel around Europe, threatening people to either convert or be killed, he slaughtered thousands. Now thats not real Christianity according to the Bible, much like most of Medieval europe and even modern Catholicism.
4. You just claimed all religion is retarded. I would agree in saying that certain religions, even though they may have good morals, are indeed retarded, like worshipping mother nature, or worshipping the chair you sit on. But different kinds of religionall over the world, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, even Islam have done so much in the realm of Charity, providing shelter for the sick and homeless, bringing food to those who need it, reaching out to people who need help. I don't understand how a worldly, secular person can believe that doing any of those things is RETARDED.
5. Yes, there are lots of extremists and crazies out there (Like the West-boro Baptists, and radical muslims) that get it wrong, and give religion a bad rep sometimes. But refusing to dig deeper and not trying to actually understand what I'm judging is what seems retarded to me.

And on that some people find salvation in religion and end up turning their lives around out of faith. I've seen it happen. Religion does do a lot of good but you haven't heard of this little thing called negative propaganda, have you? Basically it's where people emphasize the bad and minimize the good. You see it all the time, everyday, i assure you. Good isn't gonna get people to pay attention so the bad stuff is covered more, thus leading to obvious misconceptions and implications.
Clearly, you've fallen for it.
And finally why should anyone here give a shit about what you believe when you obviously just pass us off as being morons without even bothering to understand what we're getting at? Talk about snobby elitism. Come on, can't you actually learn about what you hate like a rational person does? Here's a little tip for you, blind hate is just as bad - if not worse - as blind faith in. Before you believe in or hate any concept, you have to know what the hell it is first.

Just because religions were used to make up wars, doesn't mean they were created for that reason....
People will always find a reason to kill each other, whether there are religions or not, but since religions exist, so they are the easiest justification to some as they claim to have a proof of the righteousness of their war from a higher power. But I really don't think the non-existent of religions would prevent wars or make it any less.
Religions aren't retarded. They have a point, and they have hope for those who believe in the creator of this universe, and don't think that this universe was made just out of a coincidence. But religions are always the weakest cell, and people always stick their crap in the name of religion. Religions are misused, and therefore misjudged...
