Well I don't rep people because i think they're cool and I don't think others should either, so it's the same principle id bitch at anyone for doing either..
Little white flowers will never awaken you, not when the cold depths have all but overtaken you.
Dearest, The days are all so long,
and in the shadows I spend them all.
My heart and I long for slumber.
Slumber I'm caressing you, I bless your touch, I lust for you.
Slumber you are not a dream, Not as much as you seem.

Sorry ladies and gentlemen that I earned each and every one of my points through giving out advice and being helpful, unlike you wannabes who got it because your "besties wub u".
Personally, I really admire your hard work on this forum Kirk, as I admire the hard work of all other members on this site, and I think that most of the members here do appreciate all the efforts in contributing to the website. Despite all that, I don't think that you guys should make it a contest of who contributes more, or who gives more helpful posts, or who gets more reps. You guys just be yourselves, and post your thoughts on the board because you want to be helpful, and you want to represent yourselves, and don't let anything else be a motivator to your posts, or you guys will never find the joy in being around the forum because you will always be thinking and waiting for more reps or so...

I agree wholeheartedly.

I don't do advice for the rep at all but I do like having it to show for, reading the appreciation comments that come with rep, etc.

My friend, I think you just said it better than I could have. Thank you.

I agree with you fully mate, however I get the impression you have the wrong idea about how I view the reputation system.
I don't care for rep; never have and never will. Nor do I care about likes, or mentions, or any other statistic on this forum. What I do care for however is the FEEDBACK that comes with the reputation point. When people give me +reputation and tell me I'm doing a good job at the advice I'm giving, then I know I'm on the right lines so I can continue giving advice on that particular subject that people will respond positively too. In the same sense, negative reputation gives me the oppotunity to reflect upon what I've wrote and improve my advice in that area. The underlying issue here is that reputation is no longer a feature which anyone can use to accurately judge who is "performing" well on the forums; it's now either a popularity contest, or another method for people to insult one-another.
I contribute to this forum because I enjoy being here and I enjoy helping others, however lately I've been avoiding advice threads because I honestly feel unwanted and unappreciated on this site. Your post has given me some more confidence in that regard, and I thank you for your kind words, but I just wanted to clarify things as I don't wish for people to think I seek reputation as part of a contest or to achieve fame.
