Icon8 What Have We Ever Done to You!?

GRR! It so annoys me when this happens... I mean, those idiots don't have the slightest idea. I've been hanging around with her since the start of this term, and two years before as well. She knows I'm nice and won't say anything at all, and I do nothing but defend myself against those sort of people, then she turns out to be one herself! We're just sitting there chatting and this little mixed race kid starts dancing and then she goes: "He looks like a monkey! A black monkey!" I mean WTF! I was standing there like "Well, I'm right here, if you wanna say something say it!" And then my other friend says to ignore her. More thought's came to my mind, including: "What is the bloody point!?".

I mean, c'mon! What have black people ever done to her? People always treat us like dirt on someone's shoe, we've always been looked down on and treated like sh##, especially from the mid 00s. In the 80s, my mum says that this sh## never happened and everyone knew not to say anything. I mean, if I were to see a white person do something stupid, you'd never hear me whispering racist abuse to the only black friend and one of the few black people I know. In fact, I never say anything racist about any racial groups at all! They always say it right there in front of your face just to spite you, and then two minutes later, she started begging me for a chewing gum! I only had one left in my packet (I had two packets and was hiding the other one) and gave it to my other friend instead.

I really don't see the point, us blacks haven't even done anything! The problem kids in the school aren't black, just one mixed race kids and mainly white boys! It annoys me how people still assume that black people are always causing sh## and doing sh## when we aren't even in trouble. The few black people in this school all have high grades and are looked up to. NONE of the stereotypes even fit any of us, so calling us 'monkeys' is just well out of order!

Monkeys are smart, but not smart enough to rule countries, make good inventions, fight slavery and eventually make long, complicated speeches that free themselves from discrimination. I honestly think we need to do more Black History lessons this month as well, to show these kids how much black people have gone through, and think for a second. If people have nothing nice to say, the should keep their racist gobs shut, and go read a compliments' book or something...

That depends on which movies you choose to watch.

And actually what needs to be done is to stop treating any group of people like they're something special when they're not. I prefer History, not History of Race. But History of Humankind. Black people are people, they're not anymore special than someone white, Hispanic, or Asian. They're people, we're all people. Acting as though they deserve special treatment, like having their own history month, is retarded and only fuels the inequality.
I mean, acting like black people are more special, in any way, than anyone else only sets them apart from others. If people just stopped caring, then we wouldn't have this problem.

But people make a big deal out of race, be it positive or negative. The simplest solution is to fuck it all and stop worrying about it. But people are stupid, instead they bend over backwards so much to make one group happy that you end up being totally unequal. So more history needs to be taught, not just more black history. Let me tell you this, white people were Abolitionists long before black people were. There was a struggle before the struggle and before black people were down with said struggle. But strangely most people seem to think one black guy or two in the 60s were the ones responsible for EVERYTHING, when really they were just a part of it all.

Don't divide history by race, that only serves to divide the present by the same way.

Also, she probably didn't really mean anything by it. She was just stating what the first thing to come to her mind was.

Shout, Shout, Let it all Out, These are the Things I Can do Without
You Shouldn't Have to Jump for Joy, You Shouldn't Have to Shout for Joy

They Give You Life and in Return You Gave 'em Hell

I don't think any races are superior. It's the fact that any race that isn't white (especially South Asian and Black) seem to be treated like dirt. I know that white people went through a lot before black people did, but there weren't any people of colour to pick on back then and white people aren't treated like dirt in England today.

The point of Black History month is to teach people things about what people did in history. What black people did in history never seems to pop up outside of October in English lessons and even in October, there's only one assembly we have about it.... 'History' is basically 'White History', not history that involves anyone else. Black history isn't 'retarded' at all. It's (supposedly) to show cultural differences and introduce things which black people have done and said, also, how successful they've became from bad treatment.

Besides black people, no-one ever mentions anyone else whatsoever. All we ever do about is Queen Vic and Elizabeth, Henry's 6 wives and other repetitive things like that. People always wonder why I never chose History as my option....

All people ever think about black people in October is Reggae, rap and R&B in a market selling rice, peas and chicken. That is well off.

I understand what your point is, but she did carry on after the 'monkey' comment, racist comments require a racist mind. That's why I was so ticked off.
