College is a bloody joke. this is an email i received off my tutor.
I am a little concerned about the courses that you have applied for though - having looked through the UCAS website and compared the UCAS points required for these courses against the UCAS points that you are predicted and I have doubts about whether you would get offers from these universities.
Basically telling me that i won't make it to college?
You are predicted an E grade in your A Level History and you are predicted PP in your BTEC Sport, which would give you 120 UCAS points. The courses that you are applying for are asking for 220-300 UCAS points so you will not get the UCAS points needed to get an offer.
Who says i cannot improve my grades? My sports course is a BTEC, which means coursework only, i have all year to trying and come out with a A*
Universities are also asking for GCSE English, Maths and Science at grade C or above - you have English at grade C and Maths at grade C but your GCSE Science is a grade D. This alone could affect whether you get an offer from these universities.
Last year i was going to take my GCSE science, because in my school i got BTEc science and my school said i'd be ok.. yet i NEED it to get into uni. Last year (last term, around september i was willing to take on GCSE Science, but i got told from THREE people in college that i will not need it, yet i now need it?!
You do have a number of options - you could apply to these universities and see whether you get any offers or you could consider applying for some foundation degree courses (which will mean that you spend 1/2 more years at university but you are more likely to get a place as you will have the UCAS points for these courses) or you could consider applying to study at college for different courses (maybe childcare based courses as you want to go into primary school teaching) to give you more UCAS points and time to get your GCSE Science.
1/2 MORE YEARS DOING WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING?
I've worked so hard to get where i am today, beat so many stuff to get told, what ive done isn't enough.
Why the hell do i bother?!
