Cars are the one topic that I really dislike talking. I can't talk about cars - at least from a mechanical standpoint. I haven't a clue how the engine works, or how to walk into a mechanic shop and be able to have the conversation and know what I'm talking about.
You walk into an auto parts shop and instantly they detect you to be an idiot... once they've done that they become rude, uptight, and snotty with you. Sighing after every verbal interaction, rolling their eyes, acting as if you're a waste of their time. Excuse me? I just wanted to buy a part for my car. I didn't ask to be your best friend and I didn't ask you to school me in how a car works and how to properly do the "talk".
I don't give a damn about how to talk cars. It doesn't interest me. But this... this fear of having to go to a mechanic or an autoshop or even to a dealership to look for new car.... bothers me.

Got any friends who know stuff about cars, or your dad? Just take someone along who knows the right questions.
From joy to sorrow, yesterday to tomorrow, you've been there. Friends like you are rare, your touch is so gentle,
You're my guardian angel.
Like a blossoming flower spreading your wings in grace, filling my heart with power
by feeling your embrace.
Wherever the wind may blow, we will overcome this war, in times happy or sore, I will never let you go.

just go and dont give a crap ... who cares what they think and if they are rude .. Will you see them again soon? or will you call them for a Tea at home? get what you want from them and leave .
sometimes we put up walls , not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to knock them down.
^ That works, yeh. But, at the same time when I don't know how to "talk the talk" with car people... I can very easily be screwed out of a lot more money than I should be paying - and not realize it.
And yeah... from now on I'm taking a friend who knows cars. I'm done being screwed with.

Don't worry, we all have our little idiosyncrasies
For example, I HATE talking on the phone. Especially when my work calls to see if I can pick up shifts, I'm afraid that I'm too nice and Ill just say yes even if I don't want to work, so I jut let it go to voicemail, and then look the dates up on my calendar that they want me to work before deciding whether to call them back.
As well, in my career we deal with blood, vomit, shit, urine and other yummy excrement, but the thing that grosses me out? touching dishes with left over food on it. I think blood and all that is sweet, I love watching nurses do wound dressings and stuff, but helping clean up after the residents eat a meal? fuck that shit. I'm not a bus boy.
