People are calling for Horse Racing to be banned because 2 horses died at The Grand National today.
People - not horses, people - die in pretty much every sport around, yet nobody's protesting them and saying they should be banned?
There have been 2 recent cases (that I've heard of, and I don't follow the sport) of footballers collapsing during playing with heart attacks, of which one died, yet nobody protests football. Several Rugby players die, and a girl at school died after she was hit in the chest with a Rugby ball. People don't protest Rugby.
Point being, there are PEOPLE dying in sport, yet people are crying whilst violently masturbating over 2 horses dying and saying the sport should be banned. If death means a sport should be banned, then ban all sports that have a risk of death. If not, shut the fuck up.

Yes but when you see that people Manipulate an "Animal " that can't do anything , and People manipulating other people that have the "power" to stop themselves ... Dont you see a difference? ...

As Gray correctly stated, we as humans have the choice to participate in sports, animals doesn't. Your comparison is invalid.

If humans were being bred and trained and entered into a dangerous competition without their consent or knowledge of the risks, I think people would suggest banning that sport.

What you basically said was that if a horse dies, horse racing shouldn't be banned.

What I don't get is why now? It's been happening for ages. A lot of them get shot if they fall and can no longer race.
Yeah it's really sad a poor, defenceless animal died but I think people are over reacting a little bit. Maybe that's just me. Accidents happen...I'm sure that they're very pampered, well looked after horses by their owners.

I have gotta agree with Lauren. Horse racing has been going on for a very long time and the grand national is a very famous event. It is well known that each year a couple of horses die. Accidents happen, yes it is sad but I don't see why people are reacting like its a totally new thing.

When I rode horses they only got ridden when they wanted to, so they do have some sort of choice.

Right, horses surely do like running and are good at it, but they are trained to be obedient to the jockey and run to win the race. You don't see horses in the wild just randomly running until they collapse and die.
