Socks are everything.

The length of your sock is also everything.

Lesson that you would have thought I learned the first time:

Its unwise to wear below ankle length socks with certain shoes. The shoes end up rubbing your skin raw and there tends to be blood.

Twice. It took me two times of that happening before it occurred to me: "wear longer socks". >_<

Its just a nasty feeling when you're on a walk and you realize the warmth you're suddenly feeling tickle down the back of your foot in your shoe is blood. D:

Luckily, I always use long socks.

Can't say as though I've ever had the blood problem, but I usually wear boots that go up past my ankles some and knee-highs to go with them. Or shoes that cut down lower than most shoes (like tennis-shoes) do.

So I pretty much just wear slightly-below-ankle socks and knee-highs.

But yeah, man, socks. Although once I didn't wear any socks with my shoes... it was horrible and made my skin feel irritated in the whole feet and ankle area.

In general though, this is why I like my boots rather than most other kinds of shoes.

long socks are comfortable and look cool, IMO. I never understood the American fascination with looking barefooted in their shoes.

I wear knee high socks.

I wear short socks and I've never had that problem

I had never had the problem either until recently. :(

But, I dunno. Ankle socks it is with tennis shoes.
