I just read you're going out.
But if he was like that when you guys weren't going out, and now you guys are, don't expect him to become some outgoing guy, who is always going to be with you.
I was once his age to, and it seems like you only get more shy when you start going out with someone. Obviously that changes around the ages of 15-16 where things get alot more serious.

It sounds to me that he really did like you..but I'm afraid I have no idea why he suddenly changed, maybe he thought you didn't like him, since you never talked to him..
