If your not committed then why bother even being in a relationship. IMO, you need to be committed so you guys can actually have a relationship. If theres no committment it just goes nowhere.
I'm not in a relationship at the moment so am not committed to any woman, but as Johno says, why bother being in a relationship if you're not committed to one-another?
If there is no committment in a relationship it is bound to fail, simply because it takes committment to make a relationship work.
