Okay, this is complicated but im gonna try to make this short:

A new boy started at my school last year and I got a crush in him. I’ll call him Max. He is one year older than me.
I caught him staring at me a couple of times, and I stared back and smiled once or twice.
I added Max on Facebook and started to talk to him, and after a while he even started the conversations some times. We talked about almost everything, and he asked me if I liked someone and I said yes, but not who I like. He told me he had a crush on this girl at school (he comes from another country and she’s from there too.) The girl didn’t like him so they never got together.
A couple of months passed before Max started to talk to me again, couple of days ago and Max asked me if I still liked this boy and if something had happened(he don’t know who it is.) I said no and that I was too ugly. But then he said that I am pretty and not ugly at all. We talked about some other things, and he kept telling me that I was pretty and he sent and xD to me. He also told me that I have to take a chance and ask this boy because I only live once...
At the beginning I though Max liked me but when he told me to take a chance I was almost sure that he didn’t. Cause if he did, he would take a chance on me, as he did with the other girl. Max is also in the group "You never know until you try."
Now I’m kinda confused cause I saw him poking his bud and pointing at me and smiling at school… like a friendly smile, I think.
My friend told me what she thought and she thinks Max knows that I like him and he wants me to take a chance on him.
He is quitting 18th June so I don’t have much time!
Is this really hard to figure out or is it just me? I don't get boys at all! Help me guys!

I can't tell you whether Max likes you or not but I think there's only one way to find out and that's to ask him out. If he does like you then I think he not letting anything on because he wants you to ask him out - guys love that - but he might just be being friendly. Take a chance and follow you're heart and you never know what might happen. If he says no then you've not lost anything.

i don't think he has a crush on you or that he loves you.. judging by what you said, i think that he just said you were pretty as a friend not as a guy who has a crush on you because like you said, if he had a crush on you, he'd try to get closer to you. about the pointing thing, he could be talking about anything , anything at all. he could be just saying that you were the friend who he was talking about or something like that. if you want to be sure about his feelings for you,i suggest that you dig a little more by talking to his friends or get closer to him in order to find out.
