^ This, too. See? Most people read your situation and come up with the similar conclusion.

The real issue is what holds you back here and what the benefit of that is. It's almost like you don't really want to have her as an up close and personal friend, but rather just an object out there for you to be interested in and excited over...at a distance. You're overly reluctant to take the steps to move closer to her and advance this towards what you say you want. This is more than needing a bit of reassurance or that dreaded fear of rejection!

You can do whatever is comfortable here, if having a friend ask her about you works for you, then of course you can do that. I'm just not sure what your next move would be.

Or, you can just go up to her yourself and start the ball rolling already. That would be the most direct way of closing the distance btw'n you.

You're right Sam. I do want her as a friend....but I'm overly reluctant, or more likely, scared to do so. I think I'll get the ball rolling now. Next time I post, it's gonna be the result of my advance!
