so 2moz night I am going out with a girl called brodie and she is bringing her mate shelby, now I like brodie but shelby is waaaaay nicer and fitter but brodie is my date, I don't want to let her down, shelby likes me and I like her, and none of my mates can help out on this one [i.e. come with me], I am 14

"Fitness" shouldn't really come into consideration when dating. Beauty ain't everything. However, you have said that she's nicer, but in what way?

In relationships you should really look for someone who you are compatiable and share similar beliefs, morals, values and interests with. Then again, this all depends on what you're looking for in the relationship, and I dare say at the age of 14 you aren't looking for much.

since brodie is your date, i think you should stick with her tomorrow but if you like shelby, you can go on a date with her sometime later

The best thing about dating is that you're allowed to date multiple people, unless you're dating exclusively (which doesn't appear to be the case).

So, technically, you can date Brodie and Shelby. You won't be letting anyone down as you're simply giving yourself more time to get to know various girls before you make a decision. A lot of adults do this, and I can't see why you can't do it yourself. Besides, I would personally view it as a mature act on your part as it shows you want to be with a partner whom you're compatible with and you've taken time to come to that conclusion. If the girls have brains, they'll appreciate you more for it.

Go on this date with Brodie, and see how it goes. Then, if you wish, arrange a date/time with Shelby and go on a date with her. Keep dating these girls until you're sure you can make a good decision and then act accordingly.

Well, is Shelby interested in you? And is she even available? Find these things out before you throw Brodie under the bus. You might fancy Shelby more, but if she's not available, then Brodie's desirability might be more appealing to you. besides, you already know she fancies you. Wise man once said being with a girl who fancies you is pretty nice.

Try to remember that girls aren't like candy, you can't nibble on them or take a whiff before deciding if they're 'right'...they're alive and have needs and opinions of their own, and as such, they might not feel about you as you do them..which would complicate your choice. Or make it simple, depending on your perspective.
