There's this guy. We've been good friends fo a while, we're really close, honest with each other, share a lot of things with eachother. In late July, we both went away on holiday and before we went we both told each other that we had 'something' for the other. I mean, I really, really like him, and I thought the feeling was mutual.


When we got back from holiday, he just started sending mixed signals. One second all flirty, the next was like he didn't care. I've spoken to him about it, and either he just brushes it off or just flirts and acts all cheeky. So then I sat him down and seriously talked about it, and all he said was 'what you're saying is making me feel like I've been leading you along. I love us as honest friends, and I don't want you to do anything to change that. I love you. ' And that was it, he wouldn't talk about it anymore.

WHAT DO I DO? This is driving me crazy.

Sometimes talking doesn't change behavior.

What is it you want from this guy? You've asked for and received clarification about his intentions here, what his behaviors mean from his perspective. Doesn't sound like you're satisfied.

I think what you're looking for isn't so much a clarification, but maybe something more from him, you said you really like him. So, the next step would be to tell him that, and tell him what you want from him, see if he agrees.

Sometimes clarification only gives us answers, it doesn't change someone's feelings or the behaviors, the way they express that stuff. If you're looking for more, you can try to be clear about your expectations or wants, and see if he agrees. If not, then there's not much you can do, other than accept what he offers and see if it develops over time.
