I only hate it this time around.

I dont like it whether im in a relationship or not.

When I'm not in a relationship it just feels like the world is rubbing it in my face.

However, I'm not usually bothered if I'm single (I infact quite enjoy it), so I dislike Valentine's day more when I'm in a relationship. Now don't get me wrong, I love seeing my partner happy if she has a good valentines day, but it's far more hassle than it's worth.

2 months after christmas, do I really need another reason to fork out for over priced flowers, chocloates, and God knows what else. It's also another day I have to be subjected to inane, aggravatingly stupid romantic comedies, aptly named chick flicks. This year I'll be watching some decent film like die hard.

Also, it's a no win situation. If I get it right, and give her something she likes, will she remember it when I next do something to annoy her, like leave the toilet seat up or step on her cat? Will she bollocks. Get it wrong though, might as well get myself a shovel and start digging in for D-day as I'll never hear the sodding end of it.

Those little candy hearts that appear are shit aswell, aswell as the chocolates in heart shaoed box and custom made teddys, which are only acceptable if it's accompanied by something actually nice. Getting dumped after Valentines day or just before aswell, after you've bought a gift. Cold blooded.

If I wasn't so single, I'd tell my girlfriend straight-up that I hate Valentine's day, just so she knows not to buy me anything and not to expect anything in return.

well this year is my first Valentines with my Girlfriend and im super excited. It's the first Valentines I havent been single so it's gonna be lots of fun. I dont know what we are doing yet though

I like the chocolate and all, but it just seems like another excuse for the big corporations to suck money from the wallets of mindless consumers.

Neither. I don't really believe that we should need an occasion to be romantic and such so IMO, Valentines day is just another day for me. I neither "love" or "hate" it.

I've never been single on a Valentines day for as long as I can remember.
My husband usually plans something nice for Valentines day though. It's usually a candlelit dinner or something of the sort. This year, we'll likely be going to our favorite little diner for lunch and just soaking in a bubble bath together.

Hate it. I'm single (always will be, too) so I don't really like having love hung in front of my nose like a carrot, daring me to chase after something fruitlessly. I usually try to fake being sick so I do not have to go to school. Maybe I will.
