Default Age difference?

What are your views on a 17 year old girl being in a relationship with a 22 year old?

Not a good idea.
You're in completely different stages of your lives.

I think sometimes it can effect the relationship but I wouldn't worry tooo much about it, if you're happy together and accept that you're both in different stages of your lives then it's totally fine. For example my boyfriend may be going to UNI in September and I'll be starting college and I need accept that he'll be busy a lot.

R.I.P Shiloh Moore, I love you and miss you.<3
I will never be able to explain to anyone how much
you meant to me.
~~~~~~
Now I know what it means to live for someone else
To give up yourself
Things have changed, at times it gets kind of strange
Your love remains the same.
I don't think that's too bad an idea, because as everyone says - it's not the age that matters. of course if we talk about relationships between 17yer old and 30yearl old, that's totally wrong, but 5 yeardifference is ok.
Age gaps such as these do impact relationships. Both people are at different levels of maturity and different stages in life. This is not to say that it can't work - but one has to be ready and willing to accept the challenges and to work on the challenges as they present themselves in the relationship.
...and how long until there are no boundaries and any-age relationships are accepted by society?
Honestly I don't think it's a good idea, but that's just my opinion. You're both at different stages in life and should preferably be looking for people whom you would be more compatible with. I could agree with a 2-year gap, as that is my own personal limit (and until I've proven it to myself otherwise, I think they can work), but a 5-year gap is beginning to stretch things.
Having that said, it's down to the individuals and their characteristics. Are they emotionally-mature? Can they handle the differences? People say they're capable but they're not, and I've seen it happen. There's too many factors that get in the way of partners with years between them.
Just for reference; I've read threads like this before, and 9 times out of 10 these relationships do not work as planned. One side or both is blinded by an idea and refuse to accept reality, even when things go tits up.
By all means, go for it; just be prepared to accept the consequences.
my sis is 17 and in a relationship with a 24 year old.... i do not like the fact of it... we keep telling her to find someone her own age....
people should be with someone in their age range. there is nothing wrong with a 1-3 year gap between ages. but do what makes you happy.
I've just turned 18, and my boyfriend is soon to be 22. As long as your partner - if they're the older one - has a similar personality and can understand that you may act a little more immaturely because of your age then I don't see what's wrong with it. Just make sure that age doesn't make way for him taking advantage. There isn't that much of a difference, really.
A word of warning!
If you are in a position of trust to her, you will have to wait until she is 18 years old before any kind of relationship can happen.
By the position of trust I mean that you are either a leader, teacher, staff or an adult member(18+) of a club or organisation that she is a member of or attends to.
I got into a situation where this girl that I have known for over year. She is 16 and she said she liked me and she is a very nice girl personality wise! I asked what she thought about the age gap but she had no problem with it. To make sure I asked family and friends and they all said they could not see a problem with it. I also checked with other sources/people to find out about the law.
I am in a position of trust to her at a voluntary organisation even tho I do not teach, train or am I leader but im over 18 and classed as an adult so sadly a relationship could not happen because you have to wait until they have either left or is 18 or over. We are now just friends.
I done the right thing and asked the right people at the right time. Im glad you have asked because if you were not aware of the position of trust laws then things could get into a very dodgy situation with big prices to pay!
It broke my heart when I found out and I am very surprised how it affected me emotionally!
Good luck to the both of you
