We've been texting for the last five days and I'm pretty sure I'd like to date her. The only thing is she's not letting me get 'close' so to say.

How could I get her to let me get close and her know that I WONT hurt her?

Talk a bit more. Perhaps she's one of those girls that need to get to know a bloke REALLY well before she'll open up.

Yeah I'm. Sure we've been talking and I asked her to dinner or lunch and she said yes
The only thing is I'm not very good with getting close to people
But with her it's just like I tell everything

I hate to say it, but maybe she's just not that into you.
She's on a dating site for a reason, you'd think if she wanted to date you, she'd make the effort to get to know you and vice versa.-shrug-

I know that when i used to use dating sites, I had no problem talking to people I wasn't interested in dating,but I always kept my options open and I certainly didn't let them get close enough to get the wrong idea.

Edit: The only way you can know for sure is to discuss it with her.
If you want a relationship to happen, the best thing you can do is be open and honest with HER, not a site full of strangers.
I'm sure she'd rather you discuss it with her too.

See it's not that she's not into me it's just i think she's afraid i'm going to be like her ex and i'm nothing like him. I've asked her for dinner and we're going to go somewhere tonight.

Talk to her, or maybe just tell her straight out that you like her and won't hurt her. Don't worry about fucking it up, deal with that if it happens For now, just get to know each other better. Maybe it's her first time meeting somebody like you on a dating site? She could just need time to get used to the it. Good luck!

Really though, being a douchebag aside,My statement still stands.
