Well there has been this girl I have come to be really interested in lately. I have no issue with talking to girls, partly because I often don't care what others think of me but when it comes to this girl I like I get pretty nervous, the other day I planned to approach her but my hands were shaking so I kind of bailed out because I was way too nervous. Whenever I'm around her now I feel as if I'm some loser kid trying to build a reputation for myself by talking loudly, going round showing off and I try to build a social status around her by talking to a lot of people and other girls. I am partly being placed in this awkward situation as I have not liked a girl in a long time but yeh.

At first I didn't really like this girl but I started noticing her often because I would see her smiling and we would always share some kind of eye contact in the hallway. She would always look at me for a brief period during study periods when I walk by, and ussually smile when I talk to the teacher in our class together, she also did this when I was able to talk to her before I liked her. I'm not sure if these are considered signs that she like me but yeh. The other day i walked by her and we were both smiling at each other when she said "hi", it pretty much made my day... The thing is unlike most of my guys friends, I have not built her as perfection as liking a girl I barely know conflicts with my ideals. However I am having a huge trouble in approaching her as if I'm always finding excuse not too like "I may seem like a weirdo if I approach her now", or "her friends are there".

So basically my question is how do you guys go about in approach the people you like/interested in especially if you barely know them

Is there any time of the day that you see her alone?

Seldom, she is ussually with at least one friend during our study periods, but I have approached her during her study periods when she was with her friend but this was before I liked her and I could only keep the conversation going for 2 minutes. On some mornings her friend would be with her and eventually leave, that is probably the only time she is alone.

Try to approach her in the morning when she is alone.

Do you know what interests she has?

I'm not sure, but I ussually talk to her about english/english class because we are in the same class, especially when my friend is around partly because I think it gives her a reason to join the conversation or listen in on it.

Approach her and talk about that.

Do you feel comfortable doing that?

You could also ask about her interests - this should give you some more conversation ideas!

I ussually think I am, but when it comes to situation I ussually get pretty nervous. This is ussually because when I walk in the library she would look at me for a few seconds and I kind of just freak out at that moment and walk off and sit else where.

A lot of of us have been through that, but you need to get close to her to make your move. Practice in a mirror and rehearse what you might say.


However, I usually just go with the flow and go along with the conversation.

Hmm, interesting but would being nicer/more polite(i swear a fair bit around most people) to her than other people considered as not being myself?
