...That's right. I said yes to being set up on a date.
My coworker off-handedly mentioned how she was going to set me up and stuff. Out of curiosity I asked about in and it basically ended with me saying:
"Just so you know I'm going to ask him to get married after the first date."
Shy, a bookworm, rich, charitable, has a slight accent, nice, Republican, Christian, needs a nice girl, about a 6 according to my coworker, old fashioned, not very tall (she said around my height), brown hair, and did I mention rich?!
Not that this matters or anything. I really don't like gifts I can't cuddle or eat anyway.
Well anyway, he's out of country right now (visiting his parents) and wont be back until after Thanksgiving. But he seems like a nice guy from all she's told me. Gets taken advantage a lot though. But if it's one thing I will never do is take advantage of a person... unless they deserve it. If they're horrible, hell yeah i might. But he seems like an all-around good guy.
By the way, i said yes before she mentioned he was rich (which he denies, apparently). Problem is that I don't read all that much. I like to, but I can't find anything that holds my interest for very long. But I got like a month before he's even back in the states so I got time to groom myself mentally and physically.
Oh and according to her, I'm shy and he's painfully shy. We're both they type of people to never say a word when on the phone and people keep asking if we're still there. So yeah. Talking might be an issue. But I'm sure I can find something to talk about. Even if it means being a little awkward.
So yeah, I decided to finally say yes to being set up on a date. People have been trying for years. Finally, someone at least picked someone I might get along with.
...One problem though. He's 26 and I'm 19. My mother already said he's too old for me. I tried explaining otherwise. She changed her tone when i mentioned he's rich though. Meanwhile, my Dad never has to know anything past he's white, rich, Republican, and Christian... and likes Chess. And if he likes old movies and TV shows, that's all the better.
Point is, if he agrees to it, and he might, then I'll officially be going on my first date... eventually. Yeah, first date, laugh all you want. I finally decided to take a little chance. Hopefully it'll turn out well.
