Just wondering when can you legally say you are engaged, and even if you are under age can you still say that you are?

I think you can be engaged to be married at any age really (Arranged marriages come to mind). But being legally married is a different story. I think.

@MontrealRepresent is correct, in the uk you can get married with parents permission at 16, and without permission at 18, dunno what the ages are anywhere else though.

To actually become engaged at a young age with no proper plans to get married, no funds to get married and without a relationship that has proven to withstand through thick and thin and IMO without having first lived together for an extended period of time is just silly though.

you can get engaged at any age but if you are underage and want to get married you need parental signature

I got engaged underage then we got married. So yeah, I guess.
