I just got into a relationship about 3 days ago with a boy named Eric. I told my best friend Carlos the news. Carlos last year told me he was in love with me. I was shocked but we went out for six moths then broke up. So after I told Carlos, he wants to call me everyday. (He never used to do that.) He doesn't want me to talk alone with Eric and when were on 3 way calls he hangs up when Eric is on the other line. He will get upset when I just talk to Eric. And he keeps telling me things like when will you brake up or why did you pick Eric? I don't know if Carlos is upset because I go out with someone else or if he is jealous. I don't know how to calm him down in a nice way? help please..

Maybe he is a little upset. He is in love with you. I mean I if I loved someone of course ill be jealous and upset. It totally normal. Maybe you can say something like You'll find a special girl someday that loves you and you love her like crazy!!

It sounds like your friend is not beyond his past relationship with you yet!

He's jealous. I was the same way one time, and it will probably take a while to pass as long as you are with Eric. He probably still has some feelings for you, but it's up to you to decide when guy you want.

He's just jealous, in time he will get over. He wouldn't want a relationship with someone who wanted someone else, he will find the right girl for him eventually.

Tad obvious that he's jealous/not over your relationship. Eric is clearly just getting in the way for Carlos. You need to be considerate. Don't make a big thing about it and don't force Carlos to talk to him, that's a bit cruel. Try to avoid forcing it on him and continue your relationship quietly. He'll get used to it eventually.

It seems to me that you're flaunting your relationship to the poor kid. Its been three days, and you dated Carlos for months. He'll get over it, just respect him for all its worth.

I would say something, but everyone's pretty much said the same thing, maybe he has another reason for not liking Eric.
