My best guy friend and I are a thousand miles apart. We will contact each other via text or email. Since I havent talked to him a while, I texted him today And asked what he was up to, he said he was studying and said a few hours ago, he was thinking if I was probably wondering about him. So i told him: oh, see how you think yourself is so important and he laughed. So i played with him said:its funny cuz i was thinking if he probably thinking of me too. He said, we can still telepathic then,awesome. He said that because we can always read each others mind. So I want to know What is the meaning that he said that? He wanted me to miss him or he wanted to be special to me or he likes me or what? I mean, when we were still together, we thought we like each other more than friends but after i got back to my country and we talked about dating each other,he said it wouldn't work out cuz we are too far apart. So how he actually think about me? We had a serious convo. before. He said he likes me as a friend but it doesn't hurt him that we are apart. But whenever we get together, he'd like to date me to see if his love as a friend for me could grow into a gf love. We talked about this once in a while and he would give me the same answer and I'd get really sad cuz I like him a lot but he likes me only as a friend. And then we would be ugh about each other so i dont want to talk with him about this anymore but idk how he actually think about me..? Like he really just like me as a friend like he said or what? :/ like his actions or the way he talks, sometimes it's like more than a friend but he said he think of me as a friend for him so idk...

it sounds like he likes you a little, and you two play back and forth with each other but it doesn't sound like hes ever going to online or long distance date. my old best friend and i who liked each other for years always played like that but never dated due to other reasons. So i think you're just special to him and hes just playful and likes you and wants to miss each other because your close. So just hang on to the friendship and treasure it and take care of it, so someday maybe you can date. The longer you can stay best friends and that and have a good relationship it just proves that if you do date its serious and you already have a stable relationship.
