Dating sites don't do much. My grandpa is looking for a relationship through some site, but he wont find it. Even if its an old people dating site, nothing beats legitimate social interaction
There is some merit to the dating sites - we can't discredit them completely. I'm thinking of two couples right that I know who met through an online dating site. Both couples are happily married now, actually. So, they do work.
But the vast majority you'll meet are the those looking for hook ups. But there are the few out there seriously looking.
