Ok so I have been with this guy for almost 3 months. He is the most understanding and sweet person I ever met. And I really love him. Now this may sound stupid but every time he tells me he loves me I always hesitate to say it back. I dont know why. There just 3 simple words. I want to say I love you but cant. Does anyone have any advice? This may be a stupid story but I need to know why I can't say it back. please help!

Don't worry about saying it. Take your time. Don't say it before you're ready too. If he really loves you, he'll understand. Just make sure you're comfortable and take things at your own pace. You may just be feeling like he's taking it too fast subconsciously. Don't let it worry you a whole lot.

You're only 14, and you've only been together 3 months... I don't blame you for being hesitant. It's a big deal to love someone. If you can't say it, than you probably don't love him, so don't force it. It'll mean much more if you say it when you really mean it

That's kinda stupid! It only takes an idiot to wait that you tell him you love him to figure out whether you really do love him or not. Your words can lie, but your actions can't.

It took me months to admit to my boyfriend I loved him. He'd been saying it to me for a long time before I eventually said it back to him. I wanted to be sure, and know that the feeling was real and that it wasn't just lust, which a lot of people easily mistake. When he told me he loved me, it was pretty random, so when we talked about it I told him flat out "I want to be sure." I've been through my share of crap as far as guys go, so I was very hesitant. I almost said it a few times but held it in. I think I came to terms with how I felt about him for two weeks before I actually told him.

Moral of the story, if you're hesitant that's fine. That in no way means you don't care about him or about your relationship. You just want to be sure, and that's one of the most mature things a teenager can do. I know a lot of people that throw the words "I love you" like it means nothing. It means something to you, and it's important. So it's fine that you can't say it right now. Just explain to him that you care about him and that right now, you just want to be sure about how you feel before you say it.
