I have a crush on this girl and she catches me looking at her and vise versa in the halls or at track. Once in a while our eyes have met for a few seconds. She is a freshman while im a sophomore so we dont have any classes together. I messaged her on facebook to try and start a conversation. She hasnt responded but has been on. Should I wait a few more days or do you think she isnt interested?

She might be nervous so wait for like 2 days tops. If she doesn't then forget it.

If she hasn't responded there's a good chance she just noticed you or something. Try talking to her in person if you get the chance, or send another facebook message. If you still get nothing then you know she's not interested.

I would disagree w/messaging her again. You don't want her to think you're a bloody creep. I would try in person, definitely. If she doesn't respond in person, she's either a) just shy or b) isn't interested in dating and wants to be friends. Definitely give it another go, though.
