Okay so my guy friend says that he liked me a lot ever since last year. we are in 11th grade and it all started in 10th grade. however i do not like him and i consider him more as a close friend then someone i would date. i told them that and he seems really upset.
all of this is pretty unbalanced, because he really likes me and i like him as a friend. What do I do? Will he like me forever? I don't wanna leave him feeling hurt...=/

Ah. memories. Let me start off by saying you should not feel obliged to like your friend just because he likes you, and you shouldn't feel bad about not having the same feelings towards him. It's hard to tell if he'll always like you, but he will probably move on like human beings are supposed to.

Or he'll degenerate into some creepy stalker, and if that's the case then it's a damn good thing you didn't date him.

EDIT: Typically, I didn't answer the most important question. You should stay true to your feelings, and continue to be friends with him.

I always try to remember that I'm not responsible for other people's feelings, only my own. It's awesome that he likes you, and you should be flattered and respectful of his feelings, but if he chooses to be pissed off at you for not liking him, he's just trying to manipulate you and your feelings into getting what he wants. Not the kind of guy you want pursue anyway.
