What is an RPG?
RPG stand for Role-Play Game. In this case it is a Text-based RPG which simply means it uses solely a text-based interface. Although there are various types.
There are various types of RPGs, they can be original, based off a Game, Anime, TV show, Movie, or Book. They can be set in an AU, medieval times, a time period, and basically can include whatever you want so long as it fits the rules.
In an RPG you must create a character to play. You act as this character would act. Most people base their characters off of what they know.
The description of what and RPG is does not have to be long. It's easy so long as you know the rules and the format of the game and abide by them. Most of all, an RPG is about fun and acting out a certain fantasy you can't in real life.
In this instance the whole RPG form is a Play-by-Post RPG. Which means it doesn't follow in real time. A person may post his part and another may come along in 3 days to post his part but the time within the game will not have changed. Players post responses without a timeframe. Typically it's played in a script or story format. "Script format is a simple stating of what each character is saying, post by post, with little to no mention of said characters' actions, whereas Story format requires that the character's actions be mentioned, including the surroundings and a general description of what is going on."
All in all, once you get the hang of it, playing in an RPG will be like a second nature to you.

Shout, Shout, Let it all Out, These are the Things I Can do Without
You Shouldn't Have to Jump for Joy, You Shouldn't Have to Shout for Joy
They Give You Life and in Return You Gave 'em Hell
As Cold as Ice - No Bitch, You're Ice Ice Baby
I Hope We Live to Tell the Tale, I Hope We Live to Shout the Tale
Will You Never Shout? And When You've Taken Down Your Guard...
If I Could Change Your Mind, I'd Really Love to Break Your Heart!
Come On Let Me Shout Shout Let Me, Come On Let Me Shout Shout!
