@Jems - i dont think so. even if you grew up with a language, the learning this language is a never ending story. this applies even more also to the foreign languages.

French in Year 7.
Then if you were good at French, which I apparently was (?!), you did German in Year 8. You do both languages until Year 9, then you can choose if you want to do any of them for GCSE's. I did German, which was horrible, but I still passed it. :]
It's all changed now, though. Because GCSE's are done a year earlier.
They now do Spanish and well as German and French for Year 7 + 8.
Ridiculous.

in years 7+8 just french.

unfortunately at our school we have to do french for GCSE.
which sucks. :-(
