Accually you'd be suprised, GCSE's don't effect the rest of your life, employers will look at them yeah but they won't deny you straight off becuase of it, I only got D's in a majority of my GCSE's I still got into College and I've got a Job, Part time yeah but still, my employer has even said when I had my interview your GCSE's were just a guide line, the real reason we hire people comes out when we interview them, only major companys that pay more than about £25,000 a year ask for decent GCSE, that and the Armed Forces.
Well to be precise the R.A.F ask that you have a atleast 5 C's or equivilants for most of thier Jobs, but they'll train you so you know, the army requires little qulifications unless you plan on having a specialisation such as I.T or something.
GCSE's have some influence on your life yes, but I know people that got poor GCSE's when they left and still have done pretty well for them selves.
Me saying this does not mean you can slack off though!
