what you need to know for great gatsby:
the GREEN LIGHT** signifies change and progress
the eyes represent the eyes of God looking down and judging
nick's narration is questionable. don't know if you can trust him as a narrator or not. he says he's non biased, but it shows that he's partial gatsby

that's all i can remember for it. this will be one of the better books that you will have to read =)

Lord of the Flies, 1984, Pride and Prejudice are all wonderful books. Some of my favorites.

But The Great Gatsby is one of THE BEST books I have ever read in my entire life! F. Scott Fitzgerald is amazing. If you pay attention to it, you'll see how great it is, but if you skim over it, then you'll miss a lot of it.
