Default Should Teachers Pay for your Ink and Paper?

Right now I sure as heck think they should! My biology teacher makes you type up your rough draft of a paper, then do another typed draft, and you print both of these out, then the final. The final has to be 5-7 pages long, so you can imagine how much paper that wastes! I tried printing my final paper today (because my semester doesn't end till tomorrow and teachers are still giving us things to do) and I am now out of ink. Yesterday when I printed another paper for another class, I printed it on the back of the rough draft for my biology class because I am now out of paper. If they require you to have your draft typed and printed, I say they should pay you a bit of money for the ink and paper expenses. I mean, in our art classes we have to pay to use their paper and paints and clay, shouldn't they pay to use our ink and paper?

You have to pay to use that for art?

No, I don't think they should pay.
I do think it's a bit unreasonable to ask for so much but in the future for jobs your bosses are not gonna pay for any of it and neither is the company (for home use that is).

: / We get a credit balance and if we overuse it we get more, but only if it's for printing off homework. Otherwise we have to pay ourselves.
The paper comes free though. :]

At my old school (and I think most council-run schools) the school always provided us with jotters and paper and stuff that were paid by for the school and not the teahcers, and we brought our on pens and pencils. I personally think it's quite a good system but it's whatever works for each individual school I suppose.

At college you can get EMA which is meant to cover all your equipment (or you can in England, I'm not sure about elsewhere)

However, it's not set up very well in my opinion, I don't qualify it because my parents earned too much last year. If we went by their curent wages I would definately qualify for it.

^^ not that many people actually qualify for EMA even if they could do with it.

hell yeah!
I mean not for normal paper and pens, but when they make you print of all your courseworks, which in one case it was about 60 pages, and then i had to do it again for my second draft.
So for that yes.
