Default Factory Jobs?

I've been recently hired as a temp in a factory, operating an inserter and press.
I haven't been called in yet, but I was just wondering... do you guys know if you can dye your hair crazy colors and such during a factory job? I mean, I'd assume so because you're not personally interacting with a customer... but I like dying my hair a lot, so I want opinions/personal experience stories on it before I go ahead and do it.

It's AMAZING how when you've just about decided
to give up on love, the perfect guy comes along
and sweeps you off your feet. ♥

Gratz on the job! And good for you for wanting to make a good impression here (or at least not screwing things up!).

Every company has their own policy about dress/grooming, etc, depending on the type of work being done, and how those factors could affect performance....yours and your co workers. Best to consult with whoever hired you and see if there's a specific policy on hair colors before you do the deed!

It depends entirely on the company. Just because you're not interacting with the public, doesn't mean you can look however you like. Take offices for example. Many of the people who work in those don't meet the public face to face during the day but they still have to wear a suit etc. My advice would be don't dye your hair a crazy colour until you've been there a few weeks and you've seen how the other people are and you know what you can get away with.

Worked in many factories before and if its one thing I know, they don't hire on looks. They hire on attitude, you will be doing a boring repetitive job for hours on end, sometimes 12 hour shifts. You get greasy, sweaty and dirty and a lot of people in these factories really do stink. They keep there jobs because of production values. You sweat it out, you keep the job. Don't worry about the hair. Did you have a beard at the interview? Anyone can get a job at a factory, keeping it requires skill, determination and monkey brains. You will be the best on the press. Lol. Cause that's all they care about. Take note: office work is different, that's about personality, brains, bettering yourself and showing it. Factory work is doing a simple job quickly.

I have argued with people aloud in factories, got into fights, drug tested for being hyper, took random days off and never lost my jobs because I was a brainless money that was great at his job.

Be warned, factory work will make you dumber, will make you lose your mind. Its very stressful and the only way I got through years of it was to play games, yes. keep yourself amused; sing, dance, irritate the guy next to you. You have to make it fun or by god you will be buying a thick heavy duty rope with you first wage and tying a noose.

Good luck...
