How does this sound???
Okay, So come next May I am running for s state FFA officer postition, I know a lot, if not all of you don't know what FFA is, but I have to say a speech to like 4000 people. There isn't a topic is has to be on, it just has to make the delegates want to vote for you, and have a good message. So here is the poem/speech I wrote... what do you all think??
Sit back, relax, get comfortable in that corduroy
Get ready to listen to a story
You will thoroughly enjoy
The best mistake ever made
Started on a hot summer day
A walk to school, before my sophomore year
To see what classes would be near and dear.
I had that paper in my hands
My schedule to next years plan
I looked down art was not seen
But horticulture
How obscene.
I kicked and screamed and fought some more
I created such an uproar
I walk to a portable on that first day
A bad attitude was in my way
The last place I ever wanted to be
Was listening to a bear of a man
Sing the FFA “a, b, c ‘s”
Blue and gold around the room
Was enough to intimidate both me and you
Floral team up on the bored
Made me think twice
And craved some more
That year the edge was near
Walking on a tight rope filled with fear
Dark paths I tried to take
When 1 man picked me up
And saved the day
He threw me in headfirst
Submerging me in an all new course
This track was filled with that gold and blue
Emblems and a corduroy jacket too!
Who ever knew?
The best mistake ever made
Could save my life
And change my ways
Now Washington FFA
Today is new
Today is the day
All ways can be changed
All hearts can grow
The crops of life
Can be plowed and sowed
Together strong
Together we stand
We can make a difference across the land
Wearing blue
Growing gold
FFA members, we’ve got it sold
Here we all are
A coliseum strong
Leadership
Knowledge
Wisdom
Power for all
Ag in our souls
Hearts on our sleeves
Living to serve
As long as we be
Washington FFA
Here I am now
Wanting
Wishing
To serve the only way
I know how
Barnett’s the name
Mishele the first
Mistakes are made
But this one was for the
Better, not worst
