You're treated like an adult and have more freedom. The students are generally more mature and respectful than those at school (well, at most colleges; not at mine ).

I have to completely agree with Kirk's statement. Furthermore, in college you have to be more responsible for your work and actions because no one is going to tell you what to do. It's also harder than high school obviously. Overall, I would say it's better than high school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate and send me a private message. PM
The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.

Phew I really hope it is school was just a nightmare for me just made me angry.
You have the opportunity to meet new people, get involved in new things, and experience a new since of freedom/responsibility/independence.
However, with your coursework... Its up to you to get the homework done. Very rarely will a professor check up with you. Either you turn it in, or you fail that assignment.
Same goes with attendance... The Prof's are still getting paid - and you're paying to be in the class. Whether you show up or not is your own business and your own loss.
Oh, and be prepared to write many papers.
If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please feel free to send me a PM or a VM! I'll be back in a week.

College is pretty much highschool, except if you're not living at home, you have to live with the drama too.
Also, don't expect to get by just by doing well on tests and barely doing the homework.
In a lot of cases, you could ace all the tests, do none of the work and still fail.
Attendance is important too.
If you miss too many of them you can get kicked out of the class.
A lot of schools also make you maintain a certain average or limit the number of courses you can fail if you're living on campus.
Lastly, don't expect to squeak by just by half assing things. You'll regret it.
