My work is getting sent off to examiners in.. about 1 or 2 weeks. I need to get in about 30 pieces of work in the maxium of 1 weeks time.
The thing is i have lack of concentration, like i have no will power to actually keep focus of my task. I really want to fulfuill my dream but i cant put in the concentration to support me.
I just want to get the work done and have nothing to worry about, but if its not done by the end of next week im really in trouble and my mum will make me go on dole (benefits)
I get distracted by the smallest thing or just go and do something so i don't have to do the work. I need help. It's just getting on top of me and making me stressful and worried and i cant do it anymore.
When i do get down to doing the work, all i see is like it all blurring up ( the words) and i cant concentrate because my eyes hurt.
So my question is
How can i concentrate?
What techniques can i use to get the work done!?
Please help! It's my last chance.

Personally I'm not the best at concentrating so what I do is usually do it when I can and stop when I can't.
My mind is always busy and I get distracted if I'm not doing something I deem important (which work never is to me). So I take breaks. I'll work for an hour or so and take a 20 minute break then go back to work for another hour.
Personally I find this helps me concentrate better. Because in those 20 minutes I can find something else to do and do it so I won't be tempted by it later. That way, it's off my mind.
Then, I'll have three food breaks, one snack, then lunch, then another snack while I'm working. That way I can feel refreshed and ready to work again. So I take multiple breaks and the lunch break is about an hour, for me at least, while the snack breaks may be 20-30 minutes. But I work for an hour each time, maybe longer.
And if your eyes are hurting, you should defiantly take a break.

Soda has some effect on the brain. I'm not sure of the specifics though but I know it doesn't help me any.
That being said water is probably for the best.
Oh, there's also another way to help you concentrate. Though it takes more will power, and that's to be given a reward when you're done. It could be anything really, but it's better if you have someone who won't give it to you until you're done.
That way you have a goal in mind, motivation.
For me it was either expensive candy or computer time.

It's hard for me to understand you not being able to concentrate, Super Sarah..
Anyways, there are techniques like taking 15 minute breaks (or whatever time frame works), rewards afterwards, or before, or during...Some people have a cup of good coffee/tea/juice/milk/etc. (but NOT soda, it's got too much sugar which can cause distraction), some people munch on pretzels (me!), or put on some Dvorak.
But I think in the end, hun, what works is a combination of those things that work for you..as well as a dollop or two of self discipline. You know, "I MUST do this now". and then do it.
A lot of 'poor concentration' is really just an over indulgence of that part of us that would prefer to procrastinate or just plain not do *it*. That's where the self discipline comes in..with a reward or two for good measure.
Just do it sweetie, you have the ability. Don't spend too much time indulging the emotion.
