What do you guys think of boarding school? I've got friends who attend some pretty well knows ones in NZ and the U.K. Wouldn't mind going to one though I think some of the restrictions might be kind of suckish, such as curfew, limited computer usage, and having cell phones taken away until the weekend :o
Sophisticated ignorance, write my curses in cursive
I get it custom, you a customer
You ain't ‘customed to going through Customs, you ain’t been nowhere, huh?
I used to want to go actually, because i read books where the girl went to a boarding school. I think it would be a great experience though, and you'll be busy busy busy!
If i went i'd miss my family too much:( And it would be too much money anyway!
From this guys' experience of it that I've heard about, it sounds absolutely awful. It sounds boring and tedious, with horrid people and nothing to look forward to. I actually feel quite sorry for the people that go to them. :(
I would love to go to a boarding school if given the chance. I don't know but I find boarding schools very fascinating. It's like a one big adventure and I want to try being independent from my parents for a change.
I think if you have kids you should have them at home.. Education is important, obviously... but in the real world, you need real world experiences, family, real things that matter.. Going to grow up most of your life living in some school not knowing your family for most of the year and having other people influence you/your kids and making them who they are without any of your say or influences in it? eh.. not for me.
From joy to sorrow, yesterday to tomorrow, you've been there. Friends like you are rare, your touch is so gentle,
You're my guardian angel.
Like a blossoming flower spreading your wings in grace, filling my heart with power
by feeling your embrace.
Wherever the wind may blow, we will overcome this war, in times happy or sore, I will never let you go.
With a gentle warm heart and a will of stone, We'll never be apart, You'll never be alone. - John <3
Boarding schools certainly have their advantages, and in some cases I think it's good for a kid to be at a boarding school. However, at that time, I'd probably just send them to a Military Academy to instill some discipline. Me personally, I'm a huge fan of the Human Family.

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
I've been to a boarding school since I was 6 until last year (13 years old).
I was really scared the first day because I was just 6 and I was afraid of leaving my parents!
It was a girls' only school and I have to say I'm still really close to my old friends!
It was a quite good experience though I think I was too young!
My last 3 years there where really good because we were more free! We had socials and trips at the weekends and during my last year we could have dinner at a restaurant alone!
Now I go to a co-ed day school and I had a few problems with homework because at boarding schools you have usually tutors who help you with your homework!
I'd like to return to a boarding school but you have to think carefully about it because some people don't fit well in a boarding environment.
Also, fees may be pretty high so you should discuss this with your parents and see if you can afford it.
