I'm so confused, and just utterly... well... confused. I don't know what I want to major in. I don't know what will help me obtain the job I want. I don't know what I want to necessarily do as a career. I'm just friggin' confused. I go to college online, Ashford University, if anyone has heard of it. I love it, it's great. 3.86GPA at the moment. BUT! I don't know if I'm majoring in something that will help me later on.
My major is a BA in Healthcare Administration, and I'm in the process of getting my second major approved in Health and Human Services. I just got done with my first year, and I've almost completed general education, and I just don't know if what I'm doing is right, and will lead onto something good in the future. I know a degree will help me, but what exactly will it lead to? I don't just want a career in healthcare, I'd love to be a therapist, or counselor for teens with drug and alcohol issues, or even mental health. I don't know if my major of choice will lead to that, or if I need more.
I have no problem with going for an MA. I just don't know what will help me. I've noticed that my college seems to tell me what I want to hear, which most will sadly, so I don't feel I can rely on my AA to help me through this (plus they neer anwer their phone, ever). Resources online have proven to fail me, with a lot of mixed messages and utter discrepancies. I'm lost. D: I need help.
Well, you'll most likely find a position in the health care industry, considering that is your major.
You really have no idea what the future holds. My best suggestion is to jump right into the deep end of the river and start swimming upstream right now by making connections, etc.

Vertigo, that's true. Maybe they the hospitals have programs here in Clarksville that are volunteer based.. Hmm.. It's something that could very well help me in the future, so that's a great idea. I never thought about that. I'd love to do medical transcription in the meantime, but I don't think I'm all that qualified. I type pretty fast, around 60-70WPM, but I don't think I've got the vocabulary that they are looking for (or the terminology). Hmm.. I'll have to call the hospitals and see if I get anywhere. Thank you for the great suggestion Vertigo, I appreciate it.
