Yeah exactly. I can't wait to hear you play.
What type music do you and Mark do so far?

We play pretty much everything. Our interests pretty much cover everything. We love 90's rock like the Smashing Pumpkins, Candlebox, Collective Soul etc, but we also love NWOBHM like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. We also love Thrash metal like Anthrax and Megadeth, but we love chill music like Bob Dylan or Beck. It all just depends on what we feel like writing or learning next. Usually, one of us know a song and then we'll teach it to each other. We've even written songs over the phone using speakerphone because we live far away from each other. The songs we've been playing most recently would have to be
1. Breadline - Megadeth
2. Far Behind - Candlebox
3. Step Out - Oasis
4. The Ocean or Black Dog - Led Zeppelin
5. Mississippi - Bob Dylan
6. Wasted Years - Iron Maiden
7. Rhinoceros - The Smashing Pumpkins
8. Hell Bent For Leather or Living After Midnight - Judas Priest
9. Fly By Night - Rush
10. Ain't It The Life or Big Me - Foo Fighters
So far, in the last month thats a solid set of songs we can play all the way through together with vocals and solos, etc. I myself apparently know over 400 songs (I made a playlist on my ipod of what I could play), but Mark doesnt know that much.He doesnt have an ipod or anything and no computer, so I often have to make cds for him of what we want to play. Doesnt matter though because we get it done. Hes my perfect match, because he loves music like me, his guitar playing ability is at almost the exact same as mine too, so its not like were ever competing to be better than each other. Its so annoying, all we need are a drummer and a bassist and we could gig. There are lots of beach places that like to hire local acts no matter the level of professionalism, and as I said before, weve even auditioned for places as a duo because we were fed up with waiting.
Jeez i ramble sometimes! Sorry for the extended response.
Lol don't feel like your rambling, I like reading it all. I think the duo thing is a good idea, the more you can get out there the better even if it's incomplete, also people may offer to join etc.
Which one of you is more so the lead singer? or does it vary? But just hang in there and give it time, it may actually be a good idea yous have had so long to practice and get better and learn songs and that, you won't seem like noobs when you start preforming and get a bad rep.
Also when you record I want to hear Led Zeppelin! or of course Pearl Jam would be amazinggggggggggg
Sorry for the short reply, I'm not myself today.

Pearl Jam - In Hiding or Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In a Small Town we are learning.
Mark sings most songs, but I will sing depending on what song it is.

Tell me about it. We are like the most friggin perfect pair, because he can learn specific solos in songs, and while I can solo, I cant LEARN a solo. And he got me a lot more into 90's rock/alt rock and I turned him on to Zeppelin and Bob Dylan and Rush. ITs like 2 pieces of a puzzle comin together. We always say to each other along the lines of "we are awesome" just because we cant believe what we can do together. Its great. Sucks that hes a year older though, because hes goin to college next year and I have no plans for any of that. So just hope that doesnt make this all not worth it. Because we want to do so much and we can.
By the way, for some reason your Pearl Jam response sparked me to write 3 songs this morning at like 6 am. Dont know why, just did. And I am proud to say they are my best 3 yet. So, thanks.
Wow it sounds like you guys have a really great friendship going on, and I'm sure it wont change too much with college since he seems a lot like you and really into music and that. You guys are used to not being able to play together, or hang out often so you can already be adjusted to having to do it other ways and that.
Really? that's awesome. Do they have lyrics?

Not yet. I am going to show them to Mark on Monday and he is going to write lyrics for them, or we will make improvements, etc. So that now brings the "legit" song amount up to 5. We have one song finished. He has one that needs finishing, and I have my 3. I think that pretty good for a couple months at lunch
